How Prevalent is Circumcision (Genital Mutilation)?

I saw this new page on Facebook about nurses taking photos of public circumcisions as violating human rights/child's rights...and it got me thinking...How prevalent is circumcision in this modern age?

I myself was a willing victim of this barbaric religious tradition of genital mutilation at the age of 12! I was already a freethinker then, but I haven't made the connection yet about circumcision and it's religious origins. I still believed back then that it was a medically necessary operation that all men had to have done to them, and a badge of honor to be cut. None of my elders told me otherwise. I couldn't blame them, they were just as ignorant as I was regarding circumcisions.

But in this day and age, when medical professionals have clearly stated that this practice is medically unnecessary, is circumcision still that prevalent among highly educated individuals?

Men, are you cut? Women, do you want your men to be cut? Parents, would you have your sons cut? (before the age of 18 that is, 'coz by then, legally, it's their bodies) and parents who have had their sons cut, why?

What's so special about sex?

What I want to know is what the hell made sex so special? Why does society care so much about who we're fucking? Sex by people is not more special than sex by dogs! Both are driven by the biological imperative to procreate! The only thing that differentiates us from the dogs, is that we can use the act of sex for deriving pleasure, circumventing its main purpose, Reproduction!

Let's realize the fact that we have the Catholic-Christian(and it's predecessor Judaism) tradition to blame! If it wasn't for the pompous, self-righteous St. Agustine, who he himself was a dog and fucked anything wearing a skirt, and later in old age suddenly "realized" that abstaining from sex is the way to be "holy" (how convenient for him), that our society now suffers from this glorification of the act of SEX.

Of course let us also realize that, the reason we don't want our women fucking around with all the men in town, has nothing to do with the naive notions of PURITY nor HONOR nor DECENCY, but rather it is because of our natural instinct of TERRITORIALITY! MY WOMEN! MY PROPERTY! This is the male ego!
